OME low voltage explosion-proof electric motors are ATEX certified.
With the term ATEX (explosive atmosphere) we indicate a mixture, in particular conditions of temperature and pressure, of air and fuel capable, if properly triggered, to originate an explosion (deflagration or detonation). The fuel may consist of gas or dust.
The explosion-proof electric motors are used where it needs to guarantee safety against fire and explosion caused by gas, dust and liquids.
ATEX is the name of two European directives governing explosive atmospheres.
- The first (94/9 / EC) on equipment and protective systems installed in atmospheres and aims to bring together the different laws of the Member States for equipment and protective systems intended for these areas at risk.
- The second (99/92 / EC) prescribes the minimum protection requirements for safety and health of workers at risk from explosive atmospheres. Our motors are certified ATEX II 2 G - EExd - IICT4.
